From Craftsman bungalows in North Park and South Park to 1960s stucco tract homes in Clairemont, mid-century houses in Point Loma, and office and medical suites in Mission Valley and Kearny Mesa — the City of San Diego has about eight decades of different wall assemblies in it, and we work on all of them. FAQ
Common Questions
QDo you do small repair jobs, or only full rooms?
We do both. A single doorknob hole or a cracked corner is a real job to us — a lot of larger outfits will not return the call for anything under a few thousand dollars. Tell us what it is and we will quote it. Small repairs often get grouped with other jobs in your area to keep the trip charge down.
QMy house was built in the 1960s — is the popcorn ceiling safe to remove?
Not until it has been tested. Acoustic ceiling texture applied before 1980 can contain asbestos, and scraping it dry releases fibers into the air. We will not touch it without a lab result. Testing is inexpensive and fast, and if it does come back positive we will refer you to a licensed abatement contractor and pick the job back up once the ceiling is clear.
QCan you match the texture on my existing walls?
Almost always. Orange peel and knockdown are the two most common in San Diego and both match well. We test on a scrap piece of board held up next to your wall before we spray anything on the actual repair. Hand-troweled Santa Fe and skip trowel take longer but we match those too.
QDo you work with general contractors and property managers?
Yes — that is a large share of our work. We can hold to a schedule, coordinate with the other trades, work around occupied units, and invoice per job or per property. If you manage multiple buildings we can set up one account and keep all the job history and invoices in one place.
